FujifilmS3 Pro
The first Fuji. A DSLR with a Nikon mount and the Super CCD sensor.
More than twenty years, six branches, half a fortune. And in the end every path leads back to the same small camera.
Every camera a twig, every colour a branch. Solid dots are still in the cupboard, dashed twigs were sold long ago.

The first Fuji. A DSLR with a Nikon mount and the Super CCD sensor.

The original. Drove to Graz especially, battery pre-charged, started shooting right away.

4th generation, 24 MP. For a long time the only Fuji to survive the big clear-out, but it has been sold too by now.

The way in. Made medium format tempting in the first place. 51 MP.

The very first GFX. Used, privately, for the sensor.

The ultra-compact one. Successor to the X70, with a Bayer sensor.

5th generation, 26 MP. Ends up in the bag 99 % of the time. The answer to everything.

The cine camera for serious video.

The flagship. For everything that has to be fast and sharp.

The return. Deliberately more reduced than the first time.

In the cupboard until 2025. Sharp, beautiful, but 28 mm too wide, autofocus terrible.

The same camera, bought for the second time in 2025. One hardly dares to say it.

Still has it. Top quality, but 43 mm almost too much again. A permanent candidate for sale.

The 2026 newcomer. Full frame in a compact body.

Small enough. Good enough. Discreet enough. The best compact camera is the one you always have with you.
An X100 with a full-frame sensor, 35 mm · f/1.4 · 40 to 50 MP, and it would be perfect. The X100VI? A nice update, but not that leap. So the V stays for now.
